The Polish national team won 2-0 in a friendly match with Ukraine on Wednesday evening. However, there is no shortage of opinions that “Biało-Czerwoni” did not deserve a favorable result. This is the opinion of, among others, Jan Tomaszewski.
At the Silesian Stadium, it was the rivals who had the initiative for most of the match, but they lacked efficiency under our goal. The first goal for the Poles was, in turn, a fatal error by the goalkeeper. Jan Tomaszewski, who in an interview with “WP Sportowe Fakty” once again criticizes Piotr Zieliński warns against excessive optimism.
– The result is definitely better than the game – especially until the 60th minute. I do not understand why Jurek Brzęczek switched to two “nines” again. Especially that one of them, and I mean Milika, doesn’t play for the club at all. Friday plays the endings. Putting Zieliński in to help at this point made them go with us as they wanted in the first half – he assessed.
The former goalkeeper also criticizes the two strikers, i.e. Arkadiusz Milik and Krzysztof Piątek. He indicated candidates who, in his opinion, should be tested in the attack line.
– In the 60th minute when a switch took place, when Milik came down Moder came in, the game leveled. There were no blunders and mistakes in the defense. Zieliński is created to play for Lewandowski, that is for the “nine”. Milik and Piątek do not pass such a test for the “second Lewandowski” national team. In my opinion, it would be worth trying Klimala and Buksa. Milik is not known if he will play at all. Friday will now get a chance, but it is not known how it will present itself. In attack, Brzęczek should try someone else – he said.
Tomaszewski praised the two players for the match against Ukraine. One of them was Przemysław Płacheta, who made his debut in the senior team, the second was Łukasz Skorupski, whose certain interventions saved us from losing a goal several times.
– I really liked Płathet. It was dynamic and there is a security on the right side. When it comes to defense, Bochniewicz makes individual mistakes. I don’t even mean the penalty kick when he made a cardinal error. Later he played very hesitantly and definitely loses the fight with Walukiewicz. Skorupski fared very well – except for the first shot, when he struck it straight ahead. Gumny played well for me, but there was no flash. He gives the impression of such a stiff player. He is a footballer who will not disappoint, but also will not surprise you – finished.
