Jan Dulles about baby Lina: “Maybe it’s good that she doesn’t look like Donna”

The delivery went very quickly for the singer, but Mos does respond to that. “You thought it went fast, but it took a few hours too long,” she laughs. But Dulles reiterates that it went really fast: “We were in the hospital at 1 am, she was born at 4 am and we were back home at 8 am.”

Lina

The little one’s name had been in their head for quite some time, Dulles says. “Lina is a name we had already thought of when Donna was alive, because that’s what Caroline’s grandmother was called. And Donna looked like her. She looked like Caroline anyway, and like her mother, and like her grandmother. So when Donna was alive, we would have said to each other, ‘Look, she looks just like her, we could have called her Lina too’.”

Despite a very tough period and a immense loss, the couple is overjoyed with their little girl. “It’s all very positive. We like to let it all come to us. I expected that it would be a very strange, over-emotional sensation, especially with that delivery,” said the singer.

“I imagined it like this, like: soon a baby will be born and you then compare that or the feeling that we have got Donna back. But that turned out not to be the case at the time. Because you are just conceiving a new child, a new life. Moreover, when she came out, we immediately saw that it is a completely different baby and she does not look like Donna, so that might be a good thing.”
