Tirzah is surprised by Jamai while she is just sitting on a terrace. She is currently confined to a wheelchair due to the fateful accident. “I had an accident and then I broke my back in three places. I am paralyzed from the waist down,” she says. “The first day it all went fine, but the second day it went wrong. I think I came on a plain with ice and then I lost control and fell on my back. (…) I was alone.”

“It took fifteen minutes before someone came by. They wanted to lift me, but I had already broken everything. My lungs had collapsed and ribs were broken,” she continues. “And then I thought, this is it. I saw the sky and the sun and thought, just go. The man slapped me in the face and told me to keep up. Otherwise I felt like it was over. “
Tirzah was operated on and got eighteen pins in her back. “The surgeon came to me and said, ‘I don’t know how you survived. I thought you were going to die’.” After a month it becomes clear that Tirzah could never walk again. But that doesn’t stop Jamai from making her dance. And he wants to do that in theater at the Vrijthof in Maastricht.

This requires a lot of practice. After months of hard training, Tirhza finally shines on the podium. Afterwards Jamai catches her and tells her that he has not kept it dry.
