JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta has decided to extend the large-scale social restriction (PSBB) during the first phase of the transition period for two weeks or 14 days.
The PSBB transitional period has been extended from 17 July to 30 July 2020.
“We extend this first transition period PSBB for the next two weeks,” said DKI Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria in a live broadcast on Metro TV, Thursday (07/16/2020).
Riza said, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan had signed the governor’s decision regarding the PSBB extension for the transition period.
PSBB transition extended because Jakarta is considered not safe from the spread of Covid-19.
“Based on available data, it is known that Jakarta is not safe and the numbers have not improved as we all hope,” said Riza.
This Thursday is the last day of the implementation of the PSBB transition in Jakarta before finally being re-extended until 30 July 2020.
The transition PSBB is known to have been enacted since June 5, 2020.
The transition PSBB was initially carried out for 28 days or until 2 July 2020.
However, Governor Anies decided to extend the PSBB transition for 14 days or until today.
The transition PSBB was extended after the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government saw a score of three indicators for the PSBB easing.
In addition, DKI Jakarta Provincial Government also sees Covid-19 transmission with a reproductive rate (Rt) in the range of 1, where one patient can transmit the virus to another person.
Before enacting the transitional PSBB, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government implemented the PSBB with various tightening from 10 April to 4 June 2020.
