It is not known for sure what caused Jack Ma to behave like this. However, there are allegations that this is also influenced by the decision taken by the Chinese government some time ago.

First after Alibaba was fined

The appearance of Jack Ma is the first after Alibaba has been fined. Last week, China’s anti-monopoly watchdog fined Alibaba Group 2.8 billion US dollars (around Rp 40.7 trillion) on charges of violating the monopoly.

The monopolistic practice in question is such as coercion against merchants on Alibaba’s e-commerce site.

The merchant partners are forced to agree to an exclusive cooperation pact and agreement that regulates traders not to use other similar platforms.

In response to the lawsuit, Alibaba finally agreed to the sentence imposed by China’s anti-monopoly watchdog.

Collected KompasTekno from CNBC, Friday (16/4/2021), Alibaba even promised to cooperate, comply with SAMR decisions, and improve the company’s internal systems.

“We (Alibaba) would not be able to be at this milestone without good government regulation and services, as well as critical oversight, tolerance and support from all constituents which are critical to the development of our business,” said Alibaba.

Previously, Ma was also reported missing for three months after criticizing the Chinese government about financial and banking regulations in Panda Country in a speech in Shanghai, October 24.

At that time, Jack Ma considered that the regulations imposed by the Chinese government actually curbed innovation and needed to be overhauled.
