Jacek Sasin announces the creation of a large concern. “The first half of next year will be decisive”

– It is not the state that will build transmission networks, it is not the state that will conclude contracts, (…) nowadays these contracts are concluded between companies, between large entities. That is why such a concern was needed. (…) the first half of next year will be the decisive period when we will be able to say that this new concern is becoming a fact. We will have (…) a company with enormous investment potential, with enormous potential for change, energy transformation, and the search for new energy sources, which today is an absolutely fundamental challenge not only for the economy, but also for the security of Poland in every dimension – he said in PR1, head of the Ministry of State Assets.

– Orlen does not operate only in one sector, today it is a multi-sector company – says Sasin on the radio.

The PiS politician also emphasized that Orlen is opening up to new markets – in addition to Lithuania, also in the Czech Republic and Germany.

According to the head of MAP, Orlen’s actions also have an impact on the energy security of the entire region. It goes, among others for the purchase by Orlen of the refinery in Mazeikiai and the contract signed last week by Orlen Lietuva with Petrofac on the construction of a deep crude oil processing installation in Mazeikiu.

Poland as a guarantor of energy security?

According to the minister, thanks to this investment, Poland could become a guarantor of energy security for the Baltic states, as well as Ukraine and Moldova. He added that an element of this strategy is the supply of gas by PGNiG to Moldova due to the limitation of gas supplies to this country by Gazprom.

– I can say with satisfaction that today we are at our fingertips from the moment we can say that we are completely independent of Russian gas. Which does not mean that we will not buy this Russian gas to some extent, but we will buy it because we believe that it is economically beneficial for us, and not because we have to – emphasized Sasin in the interview.
