Krefeld. KFC Uerdingen can welcome the next player to its Oberliga squad: Ryo Iwata is moving from 1. FC Mönchengladbach to Grotenburg. In Mönchengladbach he was a regular on the right side of defence, but he can also be used on the offensive flank. Overall, he scored 11 points in 31 games, which is strong for his position: 5 goals and 6 assists were recorded for the 21-year-old Japanese in the past season, nobody in his team was more dangerous. Before that he was active in Germany for VfL Alfter (Mittelrheinliga).
“Ryo made a good impression in trials last season. He can be used in both the left and right full-back positions. He helps us immediately on the flanks and he has a lot of potential,” says KFC coach Alexander Voigt with conviction about the new signing.
