It’s still not possible without a home printer. Laser wins over ink – Živě.cz

We asked you whether you have and use a home printer. At the same time, we wanted to find out if you preferred a laser or ink. The survey itself showed that home printing is still important to you – 89% of you have a printer at home, although half do not use it often. A minimum of readers can do without it altogether. After all, see for yourself:

The readers’ vote was thus confirmed by a survey in our editorial office. Only Cuba and I actually did without the printer, the others have one at home. Most of you do in discussion prefers the laser variant instead of the ink. The main reason is frequent drying with less frequent printing. But as some have mentioned, today’s printers no longer suffer from this ailment.

We select some interesting opinions and tips from the discussion:

You can also print from a phone with a stupid printer

A tip for a useful application for printing from a phone is given by Pety: “I used to have an inkjet cartridge from Canon. Due to the constant drying and cleaning of the nozzles, the price of the print page was finally calculated in hundreds of crowns. After two years of suffering, she traveled to electrical waste. Today I am happy to run a cheap color laser printer (so she is an LED printer) OKI C301dn as a network printer. Reliable, nothing dries, toners get (non-original) for a ridiculous price and last a very long time. As a modern model, it can no longer print direct from Android, but the PrintBot app can do it via WiFi -> LAN. “

Only ink for printing photos

But as Snejdy mentions, more ink is suitable for printing photos on photo paper: “Tank inkjet … if you want to print photos, that’s the only option (you just have to be careful when printing less and print a page at least once every 14 days with all colors). A laser for photo paper cannot, and a normal ink cartridge with a cartridge would pull a person out of the price of leather. ”

A printer is needed with children and school

Bigboban rightly remarks that if you have children at home, you simply can’t do without a printer: “I can’t imagine life without a printer. In one piece, children need something, forms for work, offices, copies of something for someone, etc. On average, I start the printer once a day … “

Multiple monitors instead of printers

In the end, we were interested in the comment of Jan Holík, who runs digitally and needs more monitors: “I have everything digitally, I have official correspondence in Datovka, so I don’t need a printer. I rather think that I will buy more monitors than a printer, because I still have only one at home and when I work on something, it is better to have more areas, which is now a standard at least in IT companies, but it is also great for working with text documents … (…) I just don’t know if it would be better to get one “huge monitor” and work only with windows or maybe three small ones (probably 24 “).”
