The general mayor of the Capital, Nicușor Dan, signed the request submitted by the deputy Vlad Popescu, by which he adds the Piedone particle to his name, thus becoming Vlad Popescu Piedone.
The new Piedone is the son of Cristian Popescu Piedone and today the procedure started at the beginning of this year was officially completed when on the birthday of the mayor of sector 5 his son announced that he was taking the takeover of the Piedone particle as a gift.
“Because you are my father, friend and mentor, I would like to inform you that starting today, I took all the necessary legal steps to add Piedone to my name, as you did many years ago. This is the best gift and the best proof to show you how proud I am and I hope that at some point my son will add his grandfather’s, father’s name and take this name with pride. ” declare at that time the deputy, Vlad Popescu, on his Facebook page.
Cristian Victor Popescu, the former mayor of Sector 4 and current mayor of Sector 5, added to his name, at one point, the alias “Piedone”, the step being a natural one, since this name became, in time, almost synonymous with it.
Observing the physical resemblance between Cristian Popescu and Detective Piedone, played by the late actor Bud Spencer, the politician’s acquaintances gifted him with the pseudonym in question, becoming, over the years, part of his name, and not anyway, but with documents in rule.
It should be mentioned that the current mayor of Sector 5 the official act of adding the Piedone particle was made by the former general mayor Adriean Videanu, and now … years later, the act was signed by another general mayor, Nicușor Dan.
