On a recent Wednesday, Lanaeziah Brinson took her 3-year-old son, Ryian, to Detroit’s scenic Riverwalk. There, they encountered a friendly man who began playfully interacting with Ryian, jogging and joking around.

Unbeknownst to Brinson, the kind stranger was none other than music superstar Kendrick Lamar. The rapper had performed at Ford Field the previous night with Sza.

A Mother’s Revelation

Brinson, focused on the fun, filmed the interaction. It wasn’t until later, in the car, that she realized the man’s identity. Ryian, a fan of Kendrick Lamar, instantly recognized him.
