Italy has seized a complex of buildings on the island of Sardinia, worth about 105m euros, owned by Russian businessman Alexei Mordashov, Prime Minister Mario Draghi’s office said.
The confiscation is part of a Western campaign launched after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to sanction Russian oligarchs linked to President Vladimir Putin.
This is the second case this month in which assets belonging to Mordashov, known as Russia’s richest man, have been confiscated. On March 4, police seized his 65m-euro Lady M yacht, worth 65m euros.
