It turns out that Xpander is selling more like fried peanuts than Avanza!

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia The competition between Toyota Avanza and Mitsubishi Xpander took place at the 2021 Gaikindo Indonesia International Motor Show (GIIAS) on November 11-21 2021 at ICE BSD yesterday. During the exhibition, both became the best-selling cars ordered by consumers from their respective sole brand holders (ATPM).

Based on Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) records, the All New Avanza and All New Veloz sold in the thousands, providing the largest contribution reaching 1,534 units, with 711 units and 823 units, respectively, or 34% of the total Toyota models. Meanwhile, TAM recorded 4,502 SPK units during the GIIAS period.

“We are grateful for the positive response to the presence of the All New Veloz and All New Avanza, where this excellent response cannot be separated from the government’s support in increasing people’s purchasing power as an effort to recover the economy in various sectors, including the automotive industry,” said Vice President Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor, Henry Tanoto in an official statement, quoted Tuesday (23/11/21).

Meanwhile, other sales were contributed by other models, namely Raize in third place with 651 units 14.4%, Innova with 633 units (14%), and Fortuner with 529 units (11.7%).

Meanwhile, on the other hand, Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI) posted an SPK of 2,623 units. Most SPKs are dominated by Mitsubishi Motors’ flagship small-MPV model, the Xpander (including the Xpander Cross) with more than 85%.

This means that the sales of the two models reached more than 2,230 SPK. While another 15% of sales were contributed by other Mitsubishi Motors models.
