Olaine municipality intends to build a new object – a multifunctional building. Construction is planned in two phases at Jelgavas Street 23, Olaine. Currently, a design competition has been announced for the first round, after the realization of which the Olaine School of Music and Art, Olaine Library with the Department of Children’s Literature and the Adult Education Center will have a new home in this object.

Nataļja Tropkina, a public relations specialist of Olaine municipality, informed that a modern acoustic hall is planned for the Olaine School of Music and Art in the new premises, which is intended for student shows and concerts. In total, Olaine School of Music and Art will be able to accommodate 300 students, while the Adult Education Center will be available to 100 visitors at a time.
This facility will physically combine the adult and children’s libraries in separate buildings in Olaine, creating a library for both large and small residents of the county. This building has video surveillance, as well as a café. Conceptually, a concert hall with 500 seats is planned, which is planned to be built in the second phase.
The aim of the design competition “Multifunctional building at Jelgavas Street 23, Olaine, new building meta development” is to get an opportunity to choose the best proposals for multifunctional building construction project development, providing architectural and functional solution corresponding to the object function and project budget as well as addressing pedestrian and transport organization.
