The convicted person has to pay over a million in damages
The court ordered the defendant to redress the damage in part by paying the injured parties:
- Cyfrowy Polsat SA in the amount of PLN 526 299.53,
- Canal + Polska SA amounts to PLN 526 299.53.
In addition, the man was sentenced to one year’s imprisonment suspended for three years. The judgment is final.
Record-breaking compensation regarding sharing
According to polsatnews.pl, the man was arrested in March 2018 in a single-family house in the Krakow poviat. The criminal built there all the technological facilities used to illegally share the TV signal.
On the spot, the officers also secured electronic equipment acting as “sharing” servers, set-top boxes and computers.
