At the closed part of the press conference ahead of the Leeds match, Erik ten Hag was asked about the summer window and the search for a new midfielder.
The Dutchman then responded by explaining how he and the team are constantly trying to think of several transfer windows going forward, but that certain players he already has in the stable can help change these plans.
– With our summer plans, we have a long-term idea. You will also see two or three windows ahead and then we have a long-term plan.
– But you also have to revise that plan every time, due to developments. For example, who could have expected this development of Garnacho?
– It changes your approach to the window.
There has been a lot of talk about Garnacho’s contract recently, as well as David de Gea, Diogo Dalot and Harry Maguire.
– When we have news, we will inform you straight away, states Ten Hag.
In Wednesday’s game against Leeds, Garnacho could get his 22nd game for the first team this season.
With Antony out with an injury, it is also not impossible that the Argentine gets the chance from the start.
