The mayor of Santander, Gema Igual, has shown her support for the work of local musicians and has encouraged them to continue with their enthusiasm and dedication to their artistic vocation during the presentation of the Music Guide 2021.

She has also attended, accompanied by the Councilor for Youth, Noemí Méndez, to the event, which has included a concert held on the roof of the new Tabacalera civic center, in which the groups acted ‘Senártica’ and ‘Tribubu‘.

“Santander is home to a pool of young musicians of extraordinary talent, as we have been shown in the various competitions that we have organized from the City Council,” said Igual, who added that the Music Guide is a tool “of extraordinary utility for the sector”.

In addition, he has insisted on the need to encourage and support artists and musicians in a context of particular difficulty for them due to the conditions of the pandemic. “Music is an essential element for everyone,” he stressed.

For its part, The Councilor for Youth explained that the Music Guide has been conceived as a database with the information of the artists and musical resources of interest, the channels of diffusion of the bands, record companies, recording studios or rehearsal venues.
