Vaccination for minor children between 5 and 11 years old began on December 15, when coronavirus infections were on the rise in the sixth wave of the pandemic.

The number of classes confined by covid-19 does not reach 2,000 classrooms, that is, less than 1%, according to data from the Ministry of Education.
The Minister of Education, Pillar Joy, ensures that educational centers are safe spaces and ensures that they are complying with anticovid protocols. One of the new back-to-school measures this January was that students would only quarantine when there are at least 5 positives in your class.
“Since an outbreak is detected in the classroom until it is confined, half of the students test positive,” says Teresa Jusdado, Secretary of Education at UGT Madrid.
According to estimates by the Ministry of Education, the number of teacher casualties is approximately 4%. However, Maribel Loranca, also Secretary of Education of the UGT, affirms that at least “7% of the teaching staff” are on sick leave.
Children vaccinated against Covid-19
More than 1.6 million children children under 12 years old already have the first puncture of the Covid-19 vaccine. Specifically, a total of 1,654,219 children from 5 to 11 years old, which represents 47% of the population under 12 years of age in Spain.
