Isaac Paredes shines on offense and is named American League Player of the Week

The Mexican utility of the Rays, isaac wallswas named on Monday as American League Player of the Week.

Paredes started the week with five homers and a .647 OPS in 87 plate appearances this season, but doubled that homer total and added 281 points to his OPS over the past seven days.

The 23-year-old went 11-for-19 with five homers, two doubles, nine RBIs and a 2.093 OPS in five games, including the Rays’ seventh three-homer game in franchise history on Tuesday.

walls came to Tampa Bay just before the opening daybeing acquired from the tigers by Austin Meadows. He is the second Rays member to be American League Player of the Week this year, joining Dominican Manuel Margot.

Freddie Freeman takes the nomination in the National

The first baseman of the Dodgers, Freddie Freemanhas been named National League Player of the Week.

During the week, Freeman was 11-for-25 (.440) with two home runs, a triple, two doubles, 11 RBIs and a 1.373 OPS in six games.

For Freeman, it’s the sixth time he’s been named NL Player of the Week.
