KOMPAS.com – An upload stating that tonight (27/3/2023) and tomorrow (27/3/2023) there will be a phenomenon of 5 planets lined up, viral on social media.
The upload was uploaded by the TikTok account @j35line on Sunday (26/3/2023).
“A rare event of 5 planets aligning will appear at the end of March. This rare event will occur on 27-28 March. The parade of planets consists of Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Mars and Uranus. The planets will align before the moon changes on 28 March. If you get out just at sunset and look to the west, you will see the planets stretched out in a line that extends for about 50 degrees,” said the account.
As of Monday (27/3/2023) the upload has been liked more than 134,000 times, and liked by more than 5,000 people.

In this regard, researcher from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) Space Science Center, Andi Prince, confirmed that March 27-28 2023 will have several planets aligned.
“Yes, that’s right, today and tomorrow there is indeed a phenomenon of 5 parallel planets, between Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Mars and Uranus,” Andi said when contacted by Kompas.com (27/3/2023).
He also said that this event would be visible from the west, and would stretch 50 degrees.
However, he emphasized that this event was not related to any events on Earth, and was only an ordinary phenomenon that could be witnessed in the night sky.
“This is just an ordinary alignment phenomenon. So even though on Earth it appears that 5 planets are lined up stretching from west to north, their positions on the ecliptic, or star orbits are different,” he said.
He explained, for tonight, Mercury and Jupiter will appear close together or conjunction in one line. Meanwhile, Venus, Mars and Uranus are not in the same line but still appear parallel to the other planets when viewed from Earth
According to him, tonight the Moon will also be in conjunction with Mars in the north, so that it can be seen that 5 planets will be seen lining up with the Moon.
“So there are 6 things in the sky that appear aligned,” he said.
According to him, this phenomenon can be witnessed since the sun begins to set.
