Among other things, with the support of numerous forces of the special task force (SEK), a presumably planned brawl between gang members in the Hessian Main metropolis of Frankfurt was prevented on Friday afternoon.
As a spokesman for the police headquarters in the banking city reported several hours after the large-scale operation, witnesses from the responsible operations center reported around 12 noon that a violent conflict was looming in the area of Thomas-Mann-Straße and Gerhart-Hauptmann-Ring in the Niederursel district.
The area was immediately cordoned off over a large area, and around 100 forces, including heavily armed officers from SEK Hessen Süd, arrived at the scene. As a result, two high-rise buildings and an adjacent park were searched.

In the course of the police measures, three people were arrested, all of whom were known to the police and had previous convictions. Law enforcement officers also seized several weapons.
“Apparently, the swift action of the police prevented an open confrontation,” the police report said.
The police consequently denied an alleged exchange of fire, which had probably been noticed by witnesses. According to official statements, there were no injuries either. The Frankfurt investigators informed about the current situation via the short message service Twitter.
