The maximum price of gasoline is today increased above 1.6 euros per liter, for the first time since October 2014. In the Netherlands, prices at the pump have even climbed above 2 euros. Will that soon also be the case with us? “Our country works with a maximum price, which means that no distributor can go above that,” explains Jean-Benoît Schrans of the Belgian Petroleum Federation at HLN LIVE. “In the Netherlands, people are free to choose the price, so the Belgian consumer has a certain protection in that respect.”
