Well, it should no longer be a secret that Sony has quite a bit of trouble with not allowing its consoles to take off, but fortunately that seems with the arrival of the PlayStation 5 past. The console would be quite a lot quieter and cooler to be. But how do you best achieve this? Should you place the console in a portrait or landscape position? Sony itself brings the redeeming answer.
From the design point of view, there is no difference in performance between placing the console upright or placing it horizontally. You may have thought that placing it vertically is better for heat dissipation, the so-called ‘chimney’ effect, but unfortunately … you are wrong. With an active cooler in a system, it doesn’t matter how you position a console. So, we know that again.
