Loeb also plans to study unidentified weather phenomena, or UAPs, in Earth’s atmosphere. Last month, US intelligence officials released a report describing 144 incidents in which military personnel have encountered UAPs since 2004. The report revealed that one of these events was a deflated balloon, but the rest remained unexplained.
“The US government admitted that there are objects in the sky that we don’t fully understand,” Loeb said.
