Is Ivan Kostov’s “Right Alliance” project resurrected?

While “Continuing the change” is pushing the answer whether they will appear in the elections with “Democratic Bulgaria” as a pre-election coalition, a post by the journalist Sonia Koltuklieva blew up the social network. She claims that the PP sent a rejection by email to Hristo Ivanov, and he is frantically trying to save his party by reviving Ivan Kostov’s idea from 18 years ago, which envisages a broad right-wing unification “Right Alliance”. The goal is now to attract people disillusioned with Change and DB.

According to her, the situation in DB was critical, because after the failure of the Change, voters were expected to turn en masse not to Hristo Ivanov, but to GERB and Stefan Yanev’s party.

She claims that in order to save the situation, the DB has already agitated structures of the GERB-SDS coalition in small towns to secede and join the new formation as against local functionaries who promised support for the local vote next year.

It was relied on Plamen Yurukov – to pull people from SDS, and on Tsvetan Tsvetanov – to split GERB.

However, Plamen Yurukov was quickly found by Flash News, stating that his position on the subject of “Kostov’s people” has been clear for more than 15 years, and he does not recognize any right-wing ideas or party similarities with “ex-communist prosecutor Atanas Atanasov”, as well as that there is no reason for a break in GERB-SDS relations.

Meanwhile, the DB refuted Koltukliev saying that they still do not have an answer from the PP about the pre-election coalition.
