Before starting any medical research, there must be a protocol reviewed and approved by the competent institutional committee, provided that its approval is final in cases other than medical-clinical research referred to in the next paragraph. .

The approval of the Egyptian Medicines Authority and the approval and accreditation of the Supreme Council are required in the case of clinical medical research that includes the use of new or biological pharmaceutical compounds, new indications for use, or modules , medical supplies or devices that have not been used in the human body before, and have not obtained the approval of the international bodies that specify them. The executive rules of this law are to be tested at the same time in the reference countries.
