Flu, corona or “just” a cold virus? Erasmus MC pulmonologist Leon van den Toorn acknowledges that all three can look quite similar. However, there are really small differences. “You have to imagine the flu (flu) as a fairly serious viral infection, where people often get sick very quickly, within a day or two. It is characterized by high fever, body aches and general malaise. Unlike a cold virus, which is often milder, people with the flu often have to go to bed to get sick.
