WASHINGTON – President Joe Biden assured Israeli President Reuven Rivlin that the United States (US) will not allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons .
The statement, which is seen as a guarantee, was made by Biden on Monday ahead of the visit of the new Israeli Prime Minister (PM) Naftali Bennett.

Rivlin will step down as president of Israel on July 9, 2021 and be replaced by Isaac Herzog.
“Iran will never have nuclear weapons under my control,” Biden told Rivlin at the White House.
Biden also dismissed criticism of the US Congress for questioning his legal authority to order air strikes against Iran-backed militias accused of attacking US personnel in Syria and Iraq.
