Iran President Injured: Israel Attacks Secret Tehran Facility

Iranian President Pezeshkian Reportedly Injured in Israeli Strike on Secret Tehran Facility

Tehran, Iran – Iranian president masoud Pezeshkian sustained minor leg injuries during an alleged Israeli attack on a clandestine underground facility in Tehran last month, according to a report by Iran’s state-affiliated Fars news agency. The incident, which occurred on June 16, reportedly involved six bombs targeting access and entry points of the facility where Pezeshkian was attending an emergency meeting of the Supreme National Security Council.

the Fars report claims that the strikes blocked all six entry and exit points, cut off the ventilation system, and disabled the electricity to the facility. President Pezeshkian and others are saeid to have escaped through an emergency shaft. Iran is reportedly investigating potential Israeli agent infiltration.

The report has not been independently verified, and Israel has not publicly commented on the allegations. Videos circulating on social media during the recent conflict showed repeated strikes against a mountainside in northwestern Tehran, with the Fars report now suggesting these strikes on the fourth day of the war targeted the secret underground complex.

The supreme National Security Council is Iran’s highest decision-making body after Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Last week, President Pezeshkian publicly accused Israel of attempting to assassinate him, a claim denied by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, who stated that “regime change” was not a war objective.

The report comes amid heightened tensions and a series of retaliatory actions between Iran and Israel. Israel reportedly eliminated numerous top commanders from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and army early in the conflict, catching Iranian leadership by surprise and causing significant decision-making paralysis in the initial 24 hours. Israeli officials have acknowledged targeting Ayatollah Khamenei, but stated they lost track of him when he was moved to a secure, undisclosed location.

Questions remain regarding how israel acquired critical intelligence on the whereabouts of top Iranian officials, commanders, and sensitive secret facilities. On June 13, israel launched a surprise attack on Iranian nuclear and military sites, citing its intention to prevent Tehran from developing nuclear weapons. iran, which retaliated with aerial attacks on Israel, denies pursuing nuclear weapons and maintains its uranium enrichment is for peaceful purposes. More recently, on june 22, the U.S. Air Force and Navy conducted strikes against three Iranian nuclear facilities.
