The Kurdish minority individuals who were executed, which Mizan news agency labels as security threats, have reportedly been involved in an alleged attempt to sabotage an industrial facility in Isfahan. The Mizan agency, however, did not provide further details about the incident.
Amid Gaza Conflict, Iran Cracks Down
These recent executions follow last month’s hanging of four people on similar charges of espionage for Israel. It is important to note that Iran’s recent harsh crackdown on opposition and separatist groups is taking place in the wake of growing concerns in Tehran about the ramifications of the ongoing war in Gaza, which has raised fears of security challenges in Iran.
