Elshinta.com – Production of the latest smartphone from Apple, the iPhone 13, was reportedly cut in quite a large number as a result of the lack of supply chip to the point that public interest tends to decline.
Quoted from Reuters on Thursday, the production cut on the iPhone 13 occurred due to not too many updates on the cellphone and also the scarcity of goods.
Meanwhile, Bloomberg reports that now the iPhone 13 is targeted to produce only 10 million units from the very large initial target of 90 million units in 2021.
The shortage of chip supply is also suspected to be the cause of the cut in the production of the cellphone, which was released in mid-November 2021.
It is known that the iPhone 13 is still being sold in the market starting at Rp. 14.9 million, then the iPhone 13 Pro at a price of Rp. 18.4 million, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max at a price of Rp. 19.9 million.
However, the Apple company is still considered to be doing well in the midst of the crisis with an estimated 6 percent increase in sales during the holiday period at the end of 2021.
Apple has not yet commented on the cut of one of its flagship products.
It is estimated that the trend of declining public interest in the iPhone 13 is also due to not too many technological updates brought by Apple when compared to the previous generation, namely the iPhone 12.
The public is also considered to have chosen to wait for a massive update on the technology side of the latest Apple phones in 2022.
In addition, the presence of the new COVID-19 variant, Omicron, also invites prospective iPhone buyers to be reluctant to leave the house because there is still the potential for exposure to SARS-CoV-2.
