iPhone 12. We know the nominal capacity of the battery. It doesn’t look good

About the author

When presenting the iPhones 12, Apple — as always — ignored many parameters, limiting itself to a more practical approach. As in the case of batteries, which are presented not by their rated capacity, but by the declared working time. Their technical specifications remained unknown. Until now.

Documents from the certification of the iPhone 12 by Anatel, the Brazilian National Telecommunications Agency, have appeared on the web. Together with them – the capacity of the batteries.

The certification report shows that the filigree iPhone 12 mini received a battery 2227 mAhthe classic iPhone 12 and – 2815 mAh. At the same time, the iPhone 12 Pro probably also has such a battery, but the source information is imprecise in this regard. In the optimistic scenario, only one unknown remains, namely the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

How do these numbers compare to their predecessors? – you ask. Well, it depends how you look at them. Against the background of this year’s iPhone SE, which received a 1821 mAh cell, even the iPhone 12 mini looks inviting. The situation is different when compared to the 11 series: iPhone 11 – 3,110 mAh, iPhone 11 Pro – 3,046 mAh. And let’s face it, this is the price for the reduced housing.

The good news, however, is that, according to Apple, working times should not be shortened. This is of course due to the higher efficiency of the new A14 chip.

According to official data, the iPhone 12 mini will allow a maximum of 15 hours. local video playback, 10 hours streaming or 50 hours playing music. In turn, for the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro, these numbers are: 17, 11 and 65, respectively.

So realistically – no major changes compared to the previous series. Nevertheless, all those who counted on significant improvements in the sphere of working time must be fine.
