iPhone 12: mass production cannot start as planned

The Wall Street Journal reports nothing good about the planned production of the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Pro. Due to the corona pandemic, Apple has not managed to start all validation tests at the right time and is unlikely to be able to catch up.

Apple is lagging behind in iPhone production. The time delay is about a month. Therefore, due to the corona virus, the iPhone 12 will probably be launched later than the usual September date.

According to several reports, four new models with the name iPhone 12 are to be launched this year. In addition to an entry-level model with a screen size of 5.4 inches, there should also be a 6.7-inch model. In addition, two models, each with a 6.1-inch display, are to come onto the market. Seems like there will be an iPhone 12 Pro Max and an iPhone 12 Max this time.

Apple will probably change the housing of the iPhone 12. Rumor has it that this time it will again be a somewhat edgier design with a surrounding metal band like the iPhone 5. In addition, the iPhones will of course finally be 5G compatible. It can also be assumed that Apple will install the LiDAR on the Pro models, as it did on the iPad Pro from March 2020. A new processor (A14) and better camera equipment for the Pro models can also be expected.

Massive decline in sales at Apple feared

The late delivery may reduce Apple’s sales, according to the Wall Street Journal. That would be another blow for the 2020 horror year to be expected anyway. Apple is said to have already reduced production planning for the second half of the year by 20 percent.

What do you think? Will Apple do the miracle and still launch the Phone 12 series on time or will there be an October or November premiere?
