Des Moines, IA – The Iowa Architectural Foundation (IAF) today announced EMC Insurance Companies and Mainframe Studios as the recipients of its 2025 Community Enhancement awards. the awards recognize non-architectural organizations demonstrably improving the quality of life in Iowa communities through thoughtful investment.
EMC Insurance was honored with the Community Enhancement through Architecture and Design Award for its ongoing revitalization of downtown Des Moines.Projects contributing to the award include improvements to its corporate headquarters, the creation of accessible skywalk connections, and the growth of EMC Downtown Park. Mainframe Studios received the Community Enhancement through Historic Vitalization Award for its prosperous conversion of a former Brutalist structure into a vibrant creative workspace, now providing studio space for over 200 artists.
The IAF established the Community Enhancement Awards to highlight the positive impact of projects that go beyond conventional architectural design, recognizing how strategic investment can shape and enrich communities across Iowa.
