iOS 14.5 Beta 3: Notes on AirTags & changing the standard music app

Apple released the third pre-release version of iOS 14.5 last night, only to withdraw it a few minutes later. A few hours later the version was released for download again and the first innovations are emerging.

In the “Where is?” App, a new “Items” area can be accessed in the beta version. Here Apple shows a key, a backpack and a bike and indicates that you can track your everyday items. And of course that is very reminiscent of the still unpublished AirTags. These are expected shortly, with iOS 14.5 you are in any case equipped with software.

Change the default music app with Siri

In the first beta version of iOS 14.5 you could change the default music player with Siri. In the second beta, Apple canceled the function in order to enable it again in the third previous version.

In the current beta of iOS 14.5, Siri asks again which music service should play the requested song / artist. If you have installed several music or podcast apps, you can choose your favorite service here: Spotify, Deezer, Amazon Music etc.

However, an option is still missing in the settings, so far you can only make changes via Siri. Should Apple allow the standard music app to be changed, we should soon see a setting that is emerging.
