The International Olympic Committee (IOC) plans to get the Corona 19 vaccine to all athletes participating in the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympic Games scheduled for July this year, according to the British newspaper Telegraph.
As the COVID-19 pandemic and the spread of infection in Japan continued, the Tokyo Olympics cancellation was raised, and the IOC came up with such measures.
Telegraph said the IOC sees as a priority the rapid immunization of athletes in Japan, which has not yet started vaccinating against Corona 19.
On the other hand, the British newspaper The Times reported that the Japanese government had concluded an internal conclusion that the Tokyo Olympics should be canceled due to a pandemic, citing Japanese passport officials.
However, the Japanese government immediately denied, saying, “The Japanese government is now uniting and preparing for the success of the tournament.”
