Investors Get ready! BRIS Mau Rights Issue Rp. 7 T

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) mentioned plans to increase capital by granting Pre-emptive Rights (HMETD) or rights issue PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BRIS) will be held this year.

From the issuance of these new shares, the company targets to get funds of as much as US $ 500 million or the equivalent of Rp. 7 trillion (assuming an exchange rate of Rp. 14,000 / US $).

Deputy Minister of BUMN Kartika Wirjoatmodjo said rights issue This is intended to find a strategic partner for the company as well as to increase the number of outstanding shares of the company (free float).

Previously, BSI President Director Hery Gunardi said that the Ministry of BUMN opens opportunities for foreign investors to enter as new investors to own company shares through the Indonesia Investment Authority (INA), an endowment fund (Sovereign Wealth Fund / SWF) formed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

“It is necessary to do a comprehensive study, look at the pluses and minuses, which one is the best for the present and future development of BSI, we will not be careless whether through a strategic investor or a rights issue,” he said in an interview with CNBC Indonesia, Thursday (4 / 3/2021).

Hery stated that the corporate action is expected to provide added value to all shareholders of the company.

“The hope is that what shareholders do will provide optimum benefits to Indonesian Sharia Banks so that they can develop,” he said again.
