Introduction to web development via Microsoft – Geekstorming!

On November 12, from its different media and social networks, Microsoft announced a new curriculum that can be very interesting for people who are interested in programming but have never taken the step to start.

You want to learn? Well, don’t miss this course: Web development for beginners (Web Dev for Beginners)!

If you’ve never been in contact with technology or programming, fear not.

With various illustrations and in many languages (English, Spanish, Japanese, Dutch, German (in progress!), Korean and Indonesian) so that you can study in the most comfortable and natural way, you will learn the basic elements of web development, HTML, CSS and Javascript languages … with various projects!

You can find the course on GitHub, Web Dev for Beginners, on GitHub, a portal where everyone can upload their programming projects or courses, as is the case. I also leave you the link of course in Spanish, enjoy!

Many people who learn development (be it web, mobile or for desktop applications) acquire the basic knowledge of a language or a specific technology … but in the end, you have to put that knowledge into practice to, in addition to consolidating the subject, see Through your work the purpose of learning to program, to develop applications.

As explained in a post above on videogame development: the code you write is just the pencil with which you will be able to sketch your next drawing. Do not forget that the final goal is not only to learn to handle that pencil (write code in a specific language), but to draw (create your applications).

If you are curious about this initiative, they have prepared a video in which you can see the entire team that has been involved in this project, explaining their different contributions. It’s great to see how many people with all those backgrounds and experiences come together for such a project:

I hope it helps you learn or, if you already have knowledge, consolidate content, take ideas for other courses … or even open a pull request with a contribution to the project!

If you’re just starting out, this is a great first step you can take to develop for the web. And if you are more hungry for knowledge, discover Microsoft Learn in the post I wrote on the Azurebrains blog, where I show you what you can find and how to get the most out of it.

happy dev! seeU!
