Interview with Hungarian Expert: China’s Pursuit of Global Development Reflected in Xi’s Community with Shared Future Vision

As the world continues to grapple with the challenges of economic, political, and social complexities, China has shifted its focus towards creating a new kind of global partnership. At the forefront of this vision is the idea of a “community with a shared future for mankind”, which aims to build a more harmonious and integrated world. In this article, we sit down with a Hungarian expert to delve deeper into Xi Jinping’s vision and examine China’s efforts towards this ambitious goal.

A Hungarian expert has praised Chinese President Xi Jinping’s vision of a community with a shared future for mankind, calling it an attractive model for world development. Levente Horvath, director of the Eurasia Center of the John von Neumann University in Hungary, says Xi’s various initiatives, including the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), promote mutual respect, equality, and common development between different countries and civilizations.

Speaking to Xinhua news agency, Horvath said that Xi’s ideas offer an alternative to the US-led world, which he describes as “unipolar.” He added that the direction of world development should not be determined by a handful of countries, but by all countries in the world. Most countries, he said, support a multipolar world, and the BRI has been welcomed by many nations.

Horvath, who spent twelve years studying and working in China, said that Xi’s vision represents China’s efforts for world peace, cooperation, and harmony. He believes that every civilization has its own history and culture, and that countries must find their own development paths instead of copying others.

Since Hungary signed a Belt and Road cooperation document with China in 2015, bilateral relations have grown closer, and the two governments have found common ground on many issues, said Horvath. The construction of the Hungarian-Serbian railway connecting Budapest and Belgrade, a flagship project of the BRI, is progressing well and is expected to bring benefits to the Hungarian people.

Horvath said that China’s traditional culture and modern advancements make it an example for the rest of the world. He hopes that as Belt and Road cooperation continues, China’s advanced digital finance and high-speed rail technologies could benefit more countries and people worldwide.
