International Swimming League: Pieter Timmers twice fourth in relays with the New York Breakers

Timmers competed in two relays on Monday, the men’s 4x100m freestyle and the men’s 4x100m medley. In the 4x100m freestyle, as the last torchbearer, the Olympic vice-champion led his team of the New York Breakers to fourth place (3: 10.09), setting a personal time of 46.97. The Cali Condors, led by Caeleb Dressel, winner of thirteen titles at the last two Worlds, won in 3: 06.11.

The New York Breakers also took fourth place in the 4x100m medley relay in 3: 26.17. Again the last torchbearer, Timmers this time swam in 46.72. This time it was the Iron team who won in 3: 24.81.

Timmers, 32, performs at the International Swimming, a multi-week team swimming competition in Budapest, the last outing of his professional career.

At the end of this first day, the Cali Condors are in the lead with 321.5 points. The New York Breakers follow with 210 points. The second day of this fourth match will be held on Tuesday.
