Inter Hoping Players Willing Not Be Paid Two Months

Jakarta

Inter Milan is in a financial crisis and the club president, Steven Zhang, reportedly asked the players not to be paid two months.

The Nerazzurri won the Scudetto for the 2020/2021 season and this is the end of their fast Italian League for 11 years. This success not only brings joy, but also sadness.

Inter is experiencing a financial crisis especially as a result of the impact of the Corona pandemic. The club has reportedly even been unable to provide bonuses to players who have struggled on the field.

The salary of Romelu Lukaku et al. previously it was also late in being paid since the middle of last year. Payment of player transfer installment fees is also delayed.

According to the latest report from Sky Sport Italia, President Zhang met with the players on Monday (10/5/2021) morning local time. He asked the players to give up their salary for two months.

This decision is certainly not final. Each player can agree or not and can meet with the club director in the coming days.

Vice President of Inter, Javier Zanetti, admitted last week that there were financial problems at the club. He also did not rule out if the Suning Group as the owner could sell the club.

“It is true that the club could have been sold mid-season. We are having serious financial problems, even if we are not the only ones at a difficult time,” Zanetti told Argentine newspaper La Nacion.

“Financial problems remain and it will take several years to find that balance back. We need people to return to the stadium to make the sponsors happy. Basically, back to normality,” he continued.
