Milan. Thanks to a last-minute goal from Alexis Sanchez in extra time, Inter Milan have won the Italian football Supercup for the sixth time. The champions defeated cup winners Juventus Turin 2-1 (1-1, 1-1).

Ex-Schalke player Weston McKennie took the lead for Juve. After a cross from Alvaro Morata, the American headed in after 25 minutes. After Lautaro Martinez equalized with a penalty kick (35th), Alexis Sanchez made the acclaimed decision with his goal (120th +1).

It was the first time since 2004 that both top teams faced each other again in the Supercup final. With nine wins, Juventus remains the most successful Supercoppa team ahead of AC Milan (7) and Inter (6).
