On the other hand, the Ukrainian Army General Staff announced that the Ukrainian Army had responded to attempts to advance Russian forces near 5 locations to the east. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that during the past day Ukrainian forces repulsed Russian attacks near Stelmakhivka in Lugansk province, Belogorivka, Marinka, Verkhnokamiansk and Spern in Donetsk province.
The General Staff said the Ukrainian military struck two command centers, 11 Russian centers for military equipment and personnel, and one other strategic location for the Russian military during the same period.
In turn, the Russian Defense Ministry announced yesterday that more than 200 Ukrainian soldiers were killed, as well as the destruction of dozens of military vehicles.
The ministry said in a statement: “The Russian army has targeted the temporary concentration of foreign mercenaries in the separatist Donetsk canton, killing about 100 mercenaries.”
Russian forces thwarted attacks by Ukrainian forces in the “Luhansk and Donetsk” axes and forced them back to their original positions.
Russian air defense systems intercepted two HIMARS missiles near the village of Bogdanovka in Kherson province.
On the other hand, the military administration of the city of Kyiv said yesterday that electricity, water, heating and cell phone service had been almost completely restored in the capital, Kyiv, after the repair work on the electricity grid have reached the final stage.
The military administration has indicated that the majority of Kiev residents are now able to get electricity at home, as of yesterday morning.
