Intense Motorcycle Chase in Vilnius with Repeat Offender Donāts Budreika

The intense events took place in June 2021. Two traffic police officers of the Main Police Commissariat of Vilnius were patrolling the streets of the capital on motorcycles.

The law enforcement officers noticed an “Aprilia” motorcycle without license plates, so they decided to stop it and check it. At the moment when the law enforcement officers turned on the beacons and sound signals, the motorcyclist quickly increased his speed and started to run away.

During his escape, the man repeatedly reached a speed of 200 km/h, as well as violated a number of other traffic rules, including crossing intersections at red lights and disregarding road signs.

It is true that his escape attempt ended rather quickly, as patrol cars came to the police’s aid.

When examining the detained motorcyclist, the Lithuanian police concluded that the violator has been known to them for a long time – Donāts Budreika, born in 1980. The man has had his driver’s license revoked for several years and is not allowed to drive.

Since 2017, Budreika has been fined seven times – five times he was fined for exceeding the permitted driving speed, and once more for improper parking and driving without a driver’s license.

The video footage shows that at times the motorcyclist managed to almost disappear from the sight of the law enforcement officers, but he was quickly caught up. After about five minutes of trying to run away through the streets of Vilnius, Budreika decided to turn right and continue running along the path for a short time, but then returned to the asphalt road.

A police bus met him there, which almost managed to stop Budreik. The motorcyclist almost fell off his ride, but managed to stay upright and continued his escape. A short while later, Budreika seemed to realize that he would not be able to escape and pulled himself to the side of the road.
