Intel announces another stand – Alder Lake processors for new LGA 1700 motherboards

We are still waiting for new Intel processors that will revolutionize PCs. We have high hopes for the Alder Lake generation models, which are supposed to stand out due to their hybrid design. Unfortunately, it will not do without a new stand – the manufacturer confirmed earlier rumors.

Intel Alder Lake processors will revolutionize

Intel has not officially confirmed the plans to release a new generation of processors, but some time ago unofficial leaks appeared about the Alder Lake generation.

If you believe the rumors, Alder Lake-S models will introduce a hybrid core design – in one system we will find more efficient Golden Cove cores and weaker Gracemont cores (maximum in 8 + 8 configuration). A similar solution is used in ARM systems for smartphones and new Intel Lakefield models.

However, this is not the end of the changes. The new models are to support DDR5 RAM memory and also have a PCI-Express 4.0 controller.

Intel confirms the new LGA 1700 stand

What about motherboards? The first leaks spoke of changing the stand to LGA 1700. Such information also seems to be confirmed by the manufacturer himself – on his site appeared materials about the Alder Lake-S and Alder Lake-P models and LGA 1700 sockets.

In real terms, changing the stand should not come as a surprise to us. Alder Lake processors will introduce a revolution not only in architecture, but also in support of RAM – in this situation, the introduction of new motherboards seems a necessity.

When will the premiere of Intel Alder Lake processors?

Recently, the 10th-generation Core models from the Comet Lake-S family debuted, and next year we are expecting the 11th-generation Core models from the Rocket Lake-S family (introducing, among others, PCI-Express 4.0).

It can therefore be suspected that the Alder Lake-S / -P (Core 12th generation) models will not appear faster than in 2022.
