On average, almost every tenth motor vehicle owner in Bochum had one claim in the past year – statistically 9.7 damage per 100 motor vehicles. This was announced by the Generali insurance company in connection with its nationwide “carom atlas”, which it has now published with statistics from its customers. Generali evaluated more than 270,000 vehicle damage.
It crashed more often in Essen than in Bochum
Bochum is therefore above the national average (9.1 damage per 100 vehicles). In the neighboring city of Essen, however, there was even more damage in 2019 (11.5 damage per 100 vehicles) than in Bochum. The average cost per claim in Bochum was 2166 euros. For comparison: in Essen, an average repair cost 2753 euros.
It crashes the most in Hamburg
Every third accident in Germany is now more than 2500 euros. It crashes most often in Hamburg – Brandenburg has the fewest accidents.
Drivers of premium brands would suffer a particularly high amount of damage (mostly BMW and Audi). In summer, the accident rate is significantly higher than in the cold season.
