From 17 to 20 January inclusive, the “Take over of ophthalmic optics / optometry” will take place on the Instagram channel of Aalen University. This is intended to give those interested an insight into the bachelor’s and master’s degree courses in a way that is as accessible as possible, but also to bring the general public closer to the importance of the sensory organ and create awareness for the industry.
The following subject areas are discussed under @hochschuleaalen featured on Instagram: Why ophthalmic optics? (Students report), Different career paths (graduates report), A day in the laboratory, Correct vision examined correctly (various examination apparatuses/tools, etc.), Contribution by a student about work in a specialist shop, International reports by various students.
Special experiences abroad
Experiencing your own course in a completely new way, getting a taste of previously unfamiliar learning methods and getting a completely different perspective on your own course are just a few of the advantages.
A Semester abroad at HS Aalen can be an enriching experience. With such an opportunity you can broaden your own horizons, discover the world and make international contacts. You also get to know a foreign culture for a few months, improve your foreign language skills and literally think outside the box.
Optometry students from Aalen in Finland
Simone, Alina, Leonie and Antonia took advantage of this opportunity: The four students of ophthalmic optics / optometry at Aalen University are currently spending their semester abroad in the far north at the partner university OAMK in Oulu, Finland.
The practical semester in ophthalmic optics at Aalen University can be spent with opticians, contact lens institutes, clinics and in industry at home and abroad (including in Oulu, Finland). There is also the option of taking the “International Optometry” semester at one of the foreign partner universities of Aalen University – without extending the duration of the course.
