Instagram wants to allow photos in extra high format

Instagram will soon approve the uploading of extra-tall 9:16 photos. According to the responsible manager, Adam Mosseri, tests with this image format should start in the next few weeks. Mosseri Sea one already allows particularly high videos, so it is time to become more flexible with photos as well.

In principle, it is already possible to post pictures in 9:16 format on Instagram – but only in the stories. Otherwise, vertical photos may have a maximum format of 8:10. In the future, photos from users should also be possible in the 9:16 format in the feed.

What do you think of this innovation? Great thing for more diverse photos or rather a measure that could have been saved on Instagram?
