Instagram put an end to IGTV, a service that was supposed to compete with YouTube. However, various novelties and improvements await users.
After three years, the IGTV application, which Instagram planned as a competition for YouTube on mobile phones, is coming to an end. Since Tuesday, IGTV and the videos in the feed have merged into one format. A new Video tab has also been created, where people will be able to search for videos more easily.
For users, however, this can mean a pleasant change. According to Facebook, which Instagram belongs to, it will be possible to edit videos, make various filters for them and mark places, all directly on the mobile phone.
This is what the Video tab looks like:

“We are pleased that our creative community sees video as key to sharing stories, entertainment, and connecting with their viewers. That’s why we want to make it easier to create and discover videos on Instagram,” Facebook said in a statement.
Instagram introduced IGTV in the summer of 2018. The purpose was to offer a platform for longer videos that could take up to 60 minutes. These videos were supposed to be portrait and available on Android and iOS. “The application was designed to make it easier to find and watch videos on your mobile phone,” said Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom, according to the portal.
