Instagram’s new “live rooms” allow up to four users to live in the same stream, doubling the number of participants who were previously allowed.
Now, a user can invite three more to join them during their live broadcast, which creates opportunities for different types of content.
Instagram says in an ad:
“We hope doubling Live will provide more creative opportunities: start a talk show, host a jam session or co-create with other artists, host more engaging Q&A or tutorials with your followers, or just skip it. time with more of your buddies. “

How to start a live Instagram room
Instagram users can create a live room by following the steps below:
- Open the Instagram app and swipe left to choose the Live Camera option.
- Add a title and tap the Rooms icon to start inviting others.
- Search for another user to add or accept a pending request, if applicable.
- When users accept the invitation, they are immediately added to the feed.
When other users join the feed, their subscribers will be notified when they are uploaded, which can increase the reach of the broadcast.
Live Rooms hosts will have access to the same features they would have in a single player stream. This includes the ability to flag and block comments and apply comment filters.
More interactive tools such as moderator controls and audio features will be available to Live Room hosts in the coming months.
Instagram Notes Live Rooms are designed with security in mind. Users blocked by one of the four participants will not be able to see the feed. Users who have previously had their live access revoked will not be able to join a live room.
