“Democratic Bulgaria” MP Albena Simeonova said she had nothing to do with the arrested Briton David Bodill, who was wanted under a red notice by Interpol.
28-year-old British citizen David Bodill was arrested today in the village of Ljubenovo, Nikopol municipality. He was caught by special police officers on private property next to an organic farm in the village.
According to the first unconfirmed information, it was reported that the farm belongs to the deputy of the 45th and 46th National Assembly of the PG of “Democratic Bulgaria” Albena Simeonova. In the current parliament you are a member of the agriculture and ecology committees.
Simeonova said BNT extension, that David Bodil lived in the village and that the house belonged to his grandfather. She knew English and helped him turn on the electricity and water in the house, sometimes translating for him.
“Yes, I know him, after New Year’s I took him to pay for electricity and water. But everyone would help a foreigner. Especially since his grandfather was very close to me”, said the deputy of “Democratic Bulgaria”.
Albena Simeonova said David’s grandparents Philip and Gianni bought a house in the village of Ljubenovo. The property was across the village and away from his organic farm.
She said she was surprised by Bodil’s arrest. She only saw him for half an hour when she translated for him at the town hall because no one in the village spoke English. According to her, the person wanted with a red notice by Interpol looked extremely normal.
